The NPFL season is almost concluded, with the championship already decided. Remo Stars lifted the league title for the first time in their history after a 4–1 win against South West rivals Ikorodu City. They became the first South West team since Julius Berger in 2000 to lift the league title.

Rivers United and Abia Warriors picked up the remaining continental tickets.

Ikorodu City were the surprise package of the season, finishing fourth—just four points behind the continental places. However, they can still qualify for continental football if they win the FA Cup. They face Abakaliki in the semi-finals, a match they are expected to progress in. The other semi-final will see Kwara United take on Rangers International.

Two more teams will be relegated on the final matchday. Akwa United boosted their survival hopes with a win over Bayelsa United. They go into the final game of the season hoping to pick up maximum points against relegation rivals Heartland FC.
