Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to leave Leicester City after their final game of the season against Bournemouth. The Dutchman has only been at the club for six months and endured a poor league campaign that ultimately saw the team relegated.
Leicester City have lined up former Southampton manager Russell Martin and Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Röhl as potential replacements for Van Nistelrooy. Sources say the club will not begin formal talks with either candidate until the Manchester United legend officially departs his role as head coach.
Röhl has a release clause at Hillsborough, which would be lower if he joins a Championship club rather than a Premier League side.
Martin has been without a job since he was sacked by Southampton earlier in the season. According to reports from the English press, his representatives have been approached, but no formal discussions with Leicester City’s board have taken place.
