Al Nassr Relieves Stefano Pioli Of His Coaching Duties, Ronaldo Appreciative Statement Gathers Condemnation

Al Nassr Football Club has relieved coach Stefano Pioli of is duties on Wednesday.

This came in a terse statement posted on social media by the club official account: “Al Nassr Club Company informs that Mr Pioli and his Staff are no more the acting coaching staff of the first team.

“We would like to thank Mr Pioli and his staff for their dedicated work during the past season.” It read.

Shortly after, Cristiano Ronaldo posted under the statement: “Grazie per tutto!” (thanks for everything)

The coach departure followed a third-place finish in the Saudi Pro League, a step down from the prior season, with no titles won.

However, Reports suggest tensions with Cristiano Ronaldo, including disagreements over tactics like early substitutions, may have contributed.

Ronaldo’s X post thanking Pioli gathered criticism and condemnation as some fans believes he has nothing to offer the Saudi Arabian club anymore.

@Aziz7amad: “Thank him? For what? For crashing out of every competition due to poor management? The real thanks go to the fans who endured this failure. Al-Nassr fans want to celebrate trophies — with you as part of the team, legend.”

Pioli was appointed Al Nassr coach in September 2024, replacing Luís Castro, he is an Italian football manager who previously coached AC Milan, among other clubs.
