An unidentified X user with account @greatness0220 in response to a viral thread on X that discouraged people from living with the wealthy as they may experience acute hunger” looped Bishop David Oyedepo with the categories of wealthy people whose house one will experience hunger in the midst of plenty.
The person replied the thread “If you want to experience hunger, go and live with a wealthy person or family,” on Tuesday with his claim “I worked in Bishop Oyedepo’s house and they throw food away everyday but you as a cook dare not eat even in the kitchen.
“They have CCTV cameras in the kitchen that is watched 24/7 Security are always looking hungry and hagard. It’s a sad sight. What that meant was, you can’t touch their food anywhere even the kitchen.”The X user stated.
However, his comment section is afire as some people defended the Nigerian preacher, founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, and Presiding Bishop of the Faith Tabernacle in Ota, Ogun State, accusing the person of atrocious lies, going as far as laying curses on him.
@barca_watch in the preacher’s defence wrote: “If this is true, God will judge the Bishop But if you have said this just for likes, All you have built up in the past year will begin to shed and spill off. You jar will leak in many sides, as you plug one side, it will leak in another. The tower you have built will fall to its foundations. Your hand will be too heavy to lift. In the Name of the Lord, this will be your lot.”
While there were a few people who believed and defended him, saying it’s true, accusing the Bishop of ridiculous salary wages.
@EmpireManville: “When I lived there between 2015 and 2017, I stayed at ramoth extension, what my eyes saw, what my ears heard, I said if people know what happens from Monday to Friday in canaanland, people will not come to church on Sunday.”
One of the people who commented on his post had in Oyedepo’s defence reasoned that the Bishop may not be aware of ill treatment of his staff of the low wages, but @greatness further revealed that he worked there for three years and his pay was nothing to write home about
@AKIMBANDA: “I’ve heard that kindness there is often taken for granted, leaving visitors and workers yearning. The faces around show struggle, their eyes revealing a deep hunger. Some earn as little as 30k a month.”
@emakpor_ogaga: “My wife work at KHMS in Ile-Ife, her salary was just increased to #30,000 with a http://B.SC[Ed] but I don’t know whether Baba is aware o.”
@Factor_VII questioned:“ What if he’s not responsible or aware for these logistics in his house? Not trying to side anyone, but it’s possible he doesn’t oversee these aspects”
In his words: “He is very aware sir. I used to think like you till I saw some instances
“If you can make your findings yourself, you should. I worked there as a security for over 3 years… They were paying me 25k throughout the three plus years, no increase. Things are happening.” He added
@dekkaxhi cautioned: “I believe you because I have a family member who worked there and said the same thing. However saying it here is not the best thing. God help us.”
Oyedepo has been regarded as one of the pioneers of the Christian charismatic movement in Africa, and has been referred to as one of the most influential preachers to originate out from Nigeria.
