European Commission gives Green Light for Bulgaria to join Eurozone from 1 January, It will be the second country in Western Balkans who officially adopts Euro, after Greece

European Central Bank: “Bulgaria has made good progress towards economic convergence with the euro area.

“This paves the way for Bulgaria to adopt the euro as of 1 January 2026 and become the 21st EU Member State to join the euro area, says Chief Economist Philip R. Lane.”
