Elon Musk announced that starting June 27, 2025, hashtags will be prohibited in advertisements on the platform X to improve visual aesthetics.

Musk’s announcement read: “Starting tomorrow, the esthetic nightmare that is hashtags will be banned from ads on 𝕏”

Despite the ban in ads, hashtags will continue to be allowed in regular posts.
