One of the social media influencer on X known as Lola Okunrin has called out the Nigeria Police Force over an alleged suspect that was whisked off to Panti State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department over miscarried justice.
Panti Police is the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria, is the Lagos State Police Command’s main investigative unit.
Its primary function is to investigate and prosecute serious and complex criminal cases within Lagos State. This includes handling a wide range of criminal offences and conducting inquiries into complex crimes.
Lola Okunrin with the account @lollypeezle on Monday claimed that the police refused to charge his friend identified as Bidemi to court over the said crime and has denied him visitation from families and friends.
He contacted the Lagos State Command PRO Benjamin Hundeyin whose response does not sit well with the influencer as he called Nigerians attention to the alleged injustice.
According to him: “Nigerian Police Force at it again and I won’t keep quiet. This is a very serious case. Please help me tag the PROs and everyone we can tag. This person is my guy. I am just finding out he is in Panti as we speak. What happened?
“Bidemi sells Laptop and other computers at computer village. There’s a woman who sells Laptops at retail level in computer village as well, so they do business together once in a while.
“Last December, she ventured into Rice and groundnut oil sales for December festivities. Bidemi bought several from her as gifts for his clients all year round.
“He even sent me a bag of rice as last year Christmas gift. One of this woman’s apprentice who didn’t want to buy directly from his boss asked Bidemi to help him buy because it was cheap.
“Bidemi used his own money to buy from the woman then the man refunded him. The amount was 110,000 (One hundred and ten thousand Naira).
“Last week Monday, 26th of May 2025, police from Area “F” entered computer village to whisk Bidemi away. They claimed the woman’s apprentice do steal from her and from his account statements he made a transaction of 110,000 Naira to Bidemi.
“Therefore, Bidemi is a suspect in the case. Okay, Bidemi has explained. Even the woman involved is saying it’s a case of akoba adaba, yet they have not released Bidemi since last week Monday. Today, they moved him to PANTI
“Why is he being moved to Panti? Why are they not charging him to court? Is he complicit in the crimes of the man? They are holding him and not allowing anyone to reach him. Please, we need help. Help us call on @PoliceNG @BenHundeyin. What is happening???”
However the state PRO affirmed that the alleged suspect was moved to Panti Police Station for further investigation to establish whether he is a criminal or not.
