Manchester City have announced their 27-man squad for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, with one notable omission — Jack Grealish. The England international has been left out of the travelling squad, as he is no longer part of Pep Guardiola’s plans. The club is reportedly eager for him to secure a move away as soon as possible.
For City, the Club World Cup presents a chance to end a difficult season on a high note. The team lost their Premier League crown after four consecutive titles, were beaten in the FA Cup final, and suffered an early exit from the UEFA Champions League.
The club is undergoing a major rebuild, with several new signings brought in this summer to refresh the squad for the Club World Cup and the upcoming season. Among the arrivals are Rayan Cherki, Tijani Reijnders, Marcus Bettinelli, and Rayan Aït-Nouri.
Only lifting the trophy will be seen as a successful outcome for Guardiola’s side in this tournament.
