2027 may be far away from now, but desperate political scheming and political intrigues of “Shakespearean Cloak and Dagger grudges have begun in many parts of the country.
Nasarawa State is not an exception where fingers are already pointing at the former State Governor and Senator as one political player engaged in desperate moves to impose his political will on the State.
Everywhere you go, across the nooks and crannies of the mineral rich state, the most important topic people discuss albeit lamentably like in a small community Quiz Show, is when is Almakura going to put an end to his selfish political intrigues lingering grudges and harboured grievances people tenaciously keep asking bewildered and boringly not necessarily desirous of any specific answer.
The most popular topic trending in the social media platforms in Nasarawa state now, is virtually about the 2027 political development in the State.
The ultimate truth is associated with the sad story making the rounds regarding Almakura’s ill- motivated decision to draft the former Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu Abubakar during the infamous #EndSAS saga, to join the Gubernatorial race, not for anything noble but for the sake of settling some old scores and unholy grievances and personal grudges.
The former IGP is not alone in this game of deception by Almakura as the Member representing Keana/Obi/Doma in the House of Representatives, Abubakar Nalaraba has also joined in the race at the prompting of Almakura
It’s alleged that despite being so outwardly clever and showing a false farcade of pretentious expression of normalcy including half-hearted visit to Daura on homage, in the company of Governor Abdullahi Adamu, his past political tutor-mentor and now perceived traitor and harboured nemesis, former Governor Almakura is still bitter against former President Muhammadu Buhari whom many of his confidants and trusted Gatekeepers reveal, feels betrayed by the former President for bypassing him in favour of Abdullahi Adamu to become National Chairman of APC.
Almakura wrongly believes Abdullahi Adamu does not deserve the APC ticket since cross-carpeted from PDP to APC via CPC after he had popularised and secured the mandate for President Muhammadu Buhari.
Infact apart from the former President Muhammadu Buhari and Abdullahi Adamu, whose influence phenomenally raised the profile of the Party nationwide, it’s alleged also that Almakura is secretly nursing a concealed grievance against his successor, Governor Abdullahi Sule.
He feels Gov AA Sule has left him in the cold, abandoned like a lost dog in the forest when he was unable to get his Senatorial slot at the polls in distress without intervention until Henry Omaku rescued the situation and restored his pride in Doma for which obvious reason, he gave him a respite, regardless of how.
In fact, it was reported by many close observers of the Nasarawa political space that when the list of potential 2027 political gladiators were posted and published in the public domain, Almakura’s senior boys enjoined Almakura to do some Gwadeca specialised dance steps or joyous gigs in jubilation as he was happily and jubilantly soliloquizing to be a spoiler against Dr. Ahmed Musa Muhammad, the Braden Nasarawa.
This is because of his firm and uncompromising anti-corruption stand to probe him, Almakura, for the corrupt infractions the Nasarawa SUBEB under my humble self at the time, was accused by aggrieved looters in the system and as a siting Speaker of the House which Almakura used all his powerful military connections and political clout to spike or invalidate the findings in vain because apart from NPN versus Alhaji Balarabe Musa in Kaduna State no impeachment saga was ever contemplated ever since.
Therefore, the Ta’al political circle is now bent on revenge as Almakura plots the former I.G’s political victory to take his pounds of blood and flesh as long awaited vengeance, from a former Speaker and a man from the famous Imam Baba Akara rigid and Islamically compliant family compound in Nasarawa town whose spiritual credibility overshadows their greed to the extent that they chose to be poor than to compromise or betray Islamic Justice and regulatory injunctions.
For keen political observers, the attempt by Almakura to impose his Candidate is already an exercise in futility because it is against common and conventional wisdom that believes it is the turn of Keffi zone to now produce the next Governor of the State.
The truth is that Nasarawa State 2027 promises to be a Game Changer and a special project and all eyes are now on Engineer A .A Sule as people are asking for a new social security administrative order:
Is he ready to leave Nasarawa State in a good and better hand than he had met it?
After all, when we all die, the only Judgement is the one prescribed by God, not Godfathers”!
