Nigerian artist Peter Okoye has responded to his former manager and brother’s post Jude Okoye claiming that the singer is broke.
Peter is of the music duo Psquare that has a fallen out from each other and their manager despite effort to from concerned parties to bring them back together.
Jude had posted on his Instagram handle lashing out at the boys for dumping him when they became superstar after he had helped their career.
However, Peter in response on X signed with his name asked if the brother stole from the duo or not, as this was one of the major reasons the parties fell apart. He further revealed that he is doing better as a single artist than a duo.
His statement read: “Calling me broke or wishing I was broke has been your wish. These are the exact same words you told the EFCC officials. And you ended up getting locked up in prison. Of course, you have to come up with another narrative. You were shouldering who? Agbaya, you were employed as a manager by Peter and Paul and you got sacked the same as the other 2 managers before you. Period!
“I understand this may not sit well with some people, but truth be told, aside from my businesses, what I now earn on my own as a solo artiste today is more than what I used to earn after splitting three ways as PSQUARE plus the so-called manager.
“I am talking about both shows and endorsements. It really makes me question what’s the point of sharing with people who stole from you, betrayed you, and still discriminate against your efforts!? This solo journey has been a blessing—more rewarding and profitable, both financially and personally, no doubt . And it has also brought me peace of mind.
“And if you don’t relate or it doesn’t make sense to you, no worries—it’s not meant to. But I am grateful. But again, despite we are in court! Una never still answer the question, UNA THIEF ABI UNA NO THIEF ? Ndi ori.
“I have stopped playing nice and being the matured one while getting disrespected! I started treating people exactly how they treat me. Respect me, I respect you! Ignore me, I ignore you! Cross me, I cut you off, simple.
“Life isn’t about begging people for fair treatment! It’s about matching energy; it is what it is. Tit for tat! Stay real, stay strong, and stop letting people walk over you.” He added.
