President Of African Development Bank Dr. Akinwumi Adesina Acknowledges Former President Jonathan’s Support

The president of African Development Bank— AFDB—- Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina in a post on X acknowledged the support given to him by former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Enebeli Jonathan when he nominated him as the bank president.

“My boss for life! President Goodluck Enebeli Jonathan graciously nominated and supported me to be President of the @AfDB_Group in 2015.

“I was happy he told me “I am very proud of you. You have done a great job! You have made Nigeria and Africa very proud.”

“Thank you Sir” He revealed

Dr. Adesina was first elected President of the African Development Bank Group on May 28, 2015, the former Nigerian Agriculture Minister was unanimously re-elected for a second five-year term on 27 August 2020.

On 19 October 2017, the President was conferred with the World Food Prize, also known as the “Nobel Prize for Agriculture”. On 29 February 2020, he was named African of the Year 2019 by one million readers of the African Leadership Magazine amongst others.
