PRIMARY SIX PUPILS IN NASARAWA TO UNDERGO 3 MONTHS SKILLS ACQUISITION.

Primary six pupils in public primary schools in Nasarawa State are to undergo a 3 months intensive skills acquisition training programme before graduation.

The Executive Chairman Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Kassim Muhammad Kassim, made this disclosure during an unscheduled visit to the State owned Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and technology Institute, Lafia.

According to him, the skills acquisition training is part of his vision to equip primary school pupils who have completed primary and are transitioning to primary six with vocational skills in various entrepreneurship programmes including tailoring and welding.

Dr. Kassim Kassim, emphasize that the primary objective of this initiative is to empower students, particularly those whose parents cannot afford to further their education with self-sustenance skills adding that, providing skills acquisition training to young children will better prepare them for the future.

Responding, the Executive Director, Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and technology Institute Dr.Daniel Ewuga Asele, thanked the Executive Chairman Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board and his Management team for the visit and partnering with the Institute.
