Antoine Massey, who escaped from a New Orleans jail, has been captured after six weeks on the run, U.S. Marshals arrested him in the Hollygrove area of New Orleans following a Crime Stoppers tip.
The ninth of ten escapees from the Orleans Parish Correctional Facility was recaptured on Friday after jail break which occurred on May 16, involved a group breakout.
33-year-old Massey was arrested peacefully at a home about two miles from the jail after a law enforcement tip and coordinated operation.
Police say Massey had help evading capture and had posted videos to social media while on the run, which circulated on social media, requesting President Trump and the Kardashians for help.
Attorney General Liz Murrill had affirmed that she will ensure the convict will face the full wrath of the law.
Murrill Friday statement read: “Antoine Massey has finally been recaptured in the Hollygrove area of New Orleans. He will now face additional charges for his role in the escape, and I’ll ensure that he will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Great work by all our law enforcement partners who have been working so hard for this outcome. 1 more to go!”
Recall a maintenance worker was previously arrested for allegedly turning off water to the toilet used in the escape, and Massey’s former partner faces obstruction and aggravated escape charges for her role.
Eight other escapees have already been recaptured before Massey while four-time killer Derrick Groves remains the only fugitive still at large from the incident, with a $50,000 reward is offered for tips leading to his arrest.
