Residents of Bunkure Local Government Area in Kano State are reeling from the aftermath of a devastating windstorm that tore through the community, leaving a trail of damaged homes and displaced families.
The incident, which occurred on Monday, affected the communities of Sakafalle-Jalabi and Zangon Buhari, both located in Kulluwa ward.
Reports indicate the powerful wind ripped through the villages, destroying buildings and tearing off roofing sheets.
The Information Officer of Bunkure Local Government, Labaran Garba, confirmed the development on Wednesday, noting that although no lives were lost, the damage to property was extensive.
The Emir of Rano, Alhaji Isa Umar has directed that a detailed report be compiled and forwarded to the local government council to facilitate appropriate intervention as the rainy season heightens the risk of further weather-related incidents.
