Former US President Joe Biden sold his presidential memoirs to the Hachette Book Group for about $10 million. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on July 23.
“Biden sold his presidential memoirs to the Hachette Book Group for an advance of $10 million. The publisher of the memoirs has not yet set a publication date,” the publication noted.
According to the newspaper, the memoirs will focus on the four years of Biden’s presidency. However, the cost of the book turned out to be less than that of such former presidents of the United States as Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
Earlier, on February 4, Biden signed an agreement with the Creative Artists Agency talent search agency. During his previous stint at a talent search agency, Biden published his memoir Promise Me Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose in 2017. The book, which chronicles the loss of his eldest son Beau, became The number one bestseller according to The New York Times and inspired him to embark on the American Promise book tour, which many consider a springboard to his 2020 presidential run.
