French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron have filed a defamation lawsuit in the U.S. against American commentator Candace Owens.
The lawsuit seeks damages from Owens for spreading allegations about the couple, including that the First Lady was born male.
Brigitte Macron insisted she was not born a man and is ‘traumatized’ by Owens’ comments.
“Owens has dissected their appearance, their marriage, their friends, their family, and their personal history twisting it all into a grotesque narrative designed to inflame and degrade,” the complaint claims.
“The result is relentless bullying on a worldwide scale. Every time the Macrons leave their home, they do so knowing that countless people have heard, and many believe, these vile fabrications. It is invasive, dehumanizing, and deeply unjust.”
Macron accuses Owens of publishing “outlandish, defamatory, and far-fetched fictions” that fueled “campaign of global humiliation” and “relentless bullying”
The complaint seeks damages against Owens as well as her companies.
The 215 page suit was just filed in Delaware.
