Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Çalhanoğlu is interested in making a move to Fenerbahçe. During a meeting with Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç, Çalhanoğlu reportedly told him that he would join the club if they could pay his transfer fee.
Inter are demanding around €32 million for the 31-year-old—an amount Fenerbahçe considers too expensive.
This isn’t the first time Çalhanoğlu has been linked with a return to Turkey. Earlier in the transfer window, Galatasaray submitted a €17 million bid for him, but Inter turned it down.
Çalhanoğlu is eager to leave Inter and has attracted interest from clubs in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the Bundesliga. However, he favours a move to Turkey—specifically to Fenerbahçe.
A Turkish citizen, Çalhanoğlu is the captain of the country’s senior men’s national team. He has earned 97 caps for Turkey and represented the nation at UEFA Euro 2016, 2020, and 2024. He became only the second Turkish player to feature in three European Championships, following Rüştü Reçber.
