Nico Williams has signed a new contract with Athletic Bilbao that will keep him at the club until 2035. His previous deal was set to expire in 2027. The player’s former release clause of €62 million has now been increased by 50%.

The Spain international described Athletic Bilbao as his home:

• “When decisions have to be made, for me, what weighs most is the heart. I’m where I want to be, with my people. This is my home.”

Williams has made 167 appearances for Athletic Bilbao and has won one trophy: the Copa del Rey.
