Peter Obi Berates Tinubu’s Political Strategy Two Years After Presidential Inauguration, As Hunger Hit The Land, Says Governance Require” Sincerity Of Purpose”

The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate and former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi in a post on Monday berated president Bola Tinubu as massive hunger and poverty hit Nigeria.

Obi claimed that during the 2023 presidential campaign while he was spewing facts and statistics, Tinubu had ridiculed his knowledge, while he emphasised that he was after feeding the hungry populace, however, two years down the line, the narrative is different.

The former governor and philanthropist who is gearing towards the 2027 presidential election statement on X read: “In November 2022, while campaigning in Delta State, the then APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu, now the President, berated the other Presidential Candidate (Peter Obi), he was ashamed to call his name, saying “Na statistics we go chop all I want is to put food on the table of Nigerians”.

“Now 2 years into his 4-year tenure, Nigeria is classified as one of the hungriest nations in the world with millions of Nigerians not knowing where their next meal will come from.

“President Tinubu is now overfeeding Nigerians with wrong Statistics from wrong unemployment figures, wrong inflation figures, and now GDP rebasing, all to put a positive spin on our deteriorating economic and household conditions.

“Governance is not a rocket science, it’s not a gamble, like I have always reiterated, it requires sincerity of purpose, character, competence, capacity and compassion.” He added

Obi who had campaigned under the Labour Party umbrella had lost to President Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.
