Rodrigo Riquelme has joined Real Betis from Atlético Madrid on a five-year contract, valid until June 2030. According to Spanish media outlet Diario AS, Betis and Atlético Madrid have agreed to co-own the player, with Betis paying €8 million for 50% of his rights. They’ll share ownership and potential future transfer fees.
Riquelme had been at Atlético Madrid since 2010. He leaves the club after 15 years. The 25-year-old always dreamt of playing for Los Colchoneros in LaLiga, and he did so 51 times.
The 25-year-old will hope he hits the ground running at Real Betis, so as to earn a place in the Spain men’s senior national team.
