Thomas Partey has arrived at Westminster Magistrates’ Court for his first hearing, after being charged by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Partey was met by a banner outside the court that read: ‘Arsenal said: ‘We do the right thing.’ Then do nothing.’
The 32-year-old was charged with five counts of rape against two women, and a charge of sexual assault against a third woman. The alleged offences took place between 2021 and 2022 when he was playing for Arsenal.
Arsenal Supporters Against Sexual Violence urged others to join them at Westminster Magistrate court, it wrote via X: “To everyone who joined us at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today, and to all who have supported our campaign from day one — thank you.
“We stand in solidarity with survivors everywhere. Our fight continues for transparency, safeguarding, and real change in football.”
