Court Charges Rapper Lil Nas X With Felonies After Naked Nighttime Stroll In LA

American rapper Lil Nas X, whose legal name is Montero Hill, has been charged with four felonies stemming from an incident where he was found wandering naked on a Los Angeles street last week.

The charges, which include three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer, were filed on Monday, prompting the artist to plead not guilty during his arraignment.

Video that emerged last week initially showed the “Old Town Road” artist wearing cowboy boots and some modesty-covering white underwear as he strutted through the Studio City area.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were dispatched to Ventura Boulevard in the early hours of Thursday, August 21, after receiving reports of a nude man in the street.

Police alleged that when they confronted the 26-year-old artist, he charged at them, leading to an altercation where three officers were injured.

The rapper was then taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for a possible overdose before being booked into jail.

Lil Nas X’s legal team has described the incident as a complete anomaly, emphasizing his clean criminal record and remarkable life achievements.

His father has also spoken out, stating that the rapper is “very remorseful” and is seeking the help he needs.

A judge has set his bail at $75,000 and ordered him to attend drug treatment as a condition of his release. He is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing on September 15.
