John Victor’s deal to West Ham United has broken down at the final stages. He will no longer join the Premier League side, per Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer expert announced it was a done deal with his popular “here we go” phrase, but it turned out that there was a reduction in the wages offered to Victor prior to the earlier agreement.
Following his failed move to West Ham, the Brazilian shot-stopper sent an open letter to the Botafogo fans via his Instagram handle. It reads:
“Today, I come to express my support to the Botafogo fans, who have supported me so much since the day I arrived here. I did receive an offer to leave the club and pursue other dreams in my career. I thought about it with my family and needed a few days to talk to you. I’m human, and it’s normal to feel thoughtful at these times, but we chose to continue living Botafogo. I never said I wanted to leave the club.”
The Brazilian’s claim in the last sentence has got many fans talking as there were reports from top sports journalist across the world that Victor was keen on joining West Ham.
