Reports reaching us confirm that the amnesty program organized by Ọdịmma Orsu, in collaboration with the Imo State Government, officially came to an end today in Orsu LGA.
According to sources, over 500 armed men, believed to be hiding in various forests across the region, have laid down their weapons and embraced peace.
Ọdịmma Orsu, who championed the initiative, made it clear that today marks the final day of the amnesty program. Anyone who failed to surrender by today will henceforth be treated as a criminal and face the full weight of the law.
Peace is the only way forward.
