Thor Explorations, the company behind Nigeria’s first commercial-scale gold mine, has seen its shares surge nearly 270% in the past year, lifting the fortunes of its founder, Segun Lawson, and his Nigerian partners.
Together, Lawson, Chief Kayode Aderinokun, and Folorunso “Folli” Adeoye now hold stakes worth close to $40 million in Thor.
Their flagship Segilola mine in Osun State has become Nigeria’s most valuable gold project, producing consistently since 2021 and putting the country on the global mining map.
With record profits and expansion into Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire, Thor is positioning itself as one of West Africa’s rising gold producers.
