Unrepentant Chelsea Fan Reminiscence About Nigerian Retired Legendary Footballer, Kanu Nwakwor And Match Played Against Arsenal In 2000, To Celebrate The Footballer’s Birthday

Frank Khalid: “Who can remember a certain Chelsea game when we were 2-0 up against Arsenal in 2000, then a certain Nigerian legend Kanu scored a 15 minute hattrick.

“I was gutted!!! 2 days later Kanu turned up at my cash and carry to shop with a friend.

“His first reaction when he saw me in my Chelsea shirt was to laugh, we are close friends and one of the nicest guys you can ever meet. 💚🇳🇬”

Nwakwor played for Ajax, Inter Milan, Arsenal (scoring a famous 15-min hat-trick vs Chelsea on Oct 23, 1999, turning 2-0 to 3-2), and Portsmouth.

Achievements: Olympic gold (1996), UEFA Champions League (1995), 2 Premier Leagues, 3 FA Cups, 2 African Player of the Year awards. Overcame a heart defect in 1996.
