Uche Christantaus has turned down a move to Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers. Despite Wolves reaching an agreement with Getafe, the Nigerian forward decided the transfer isn’t the right step for him at this point in his career.
In response, Wolves have shifted their attention to another Super Eagles striker, Tolu Arokodare. The 24-year-old is reportedly open to the move, and talks are well advanced between Wolves and Belgian club Genk. Arokodare is currently valued at €20–€25 million.
Arokodare is seen as an ideal fit for Vítor Pereira’s 3-4-2-1 system, thanks to his versatility, strong link-up play, and composure on the ball. He enjoyed a standout campaign last season, finishing as Genk’s top scorer with 17 goals and six assists in the Belgian Pro League.
