Lookman Rejects Move To Turkey, Set To Play Champions League Football With Atalanta

Ademola Lookman will stay at Atalanta this season. The player had offers from Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, and Galatasaray.

Inter submitted a €42 million bid plus €3 million in add-ons for the player, but Atalanta turned it down, standing firm on their €50 million valuation. Bayern submitted a loan bid with a €28 million non-mandatory buy option for Lookman, but Atalanta didn’t respond, deeming it embarrassing.

Galatasaray also approached Atalanta for the player, but Lookman never considered Turkey as an option. He is expected to stay at Atalanta, with Ivan Juric set to integrate him back into the team. The Nigerian forward has already been added to Atalanta’s Champions League squad for the season.

The Nigeria international has two years left on his contract. He is currently 27; by next year, he will be 28, and Atalanta may consider cashing in on a transfer. However, the club might not receive the €50 million they are demanding. If no suitable offer arrives, Lookman could decide to stay and leave on a free transfer when his contract expires.
