Sector 3 troops on patrol along Baga Cross Kauwa Main Supply Route in Kukawa LGA were ambushed by terrorists who detonated an IED and shot at the patrol team. The troops engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them- to retreat. Follow-up action confirmed 8 terrorists dead, including 2 Munzirs and 1 Qaid id’d as Modu Dogo Munzir of Dogon Chukun, an unidentified Munzir and Abu Aisha Qaid of Tumbun Mota .
14 motorcycles, AK47 rifles with magazines, 7.62mm special ammunition, AA links and lots of blankets (including drugs) were seized. 2 guntrucks which couldn’t be withdrawn due to terrain conditions around Alargarno and Doro Naira were destroyed and more terrorists killed by the Nigerian Air Force airstrikes with precision guidance support from the MNJTF ISR platform.
