American-Senegalese singer, Akon, has reportedly been dragged into a legal battle after his wife, Tomeka Thiam, filed for divorce to end their 29-year marriage.
According to Reports, Tomeka is demanding €100 million as compensation following years of alleged irreconcilable differences, arguing that she played a key role in building his extensive business empire, which spans the music industry, real estate investments, and the Akon Lighting Africa initiative.
However, the court handling the divorce proceedings reportedly discovered that Akon had only $10,000 in his personal account.
Neither Akon nor Tomeka has made a public statement clarifying the current status of their marriage or financial dispute.
The filing stunned fans who had long seen Akon and Tomeka as one of the few enduring couples in the music world.
