Al Ittihad have officially appointed Sérgio Conceição as the club’s new head coach. The Portuguese manager has signed a contract that will keep him at the Saudi Pro League side until June 2027.
Conceição will be joined in Saudi Arabia by his trusted backroom staff, including João Costa, Siramana Dembélé, Fábio Moura, Diamantino Figueiredo, Vedran Runje, and performance analyst Eduardo Oliveira.
The club’s board has tasked the 49-year-old with leading Al Ittihad to success in both the Saudi Pro League and the AFC Champions League. The management believes Conceição is the right fit for the club’s ambitions, naming him as the successor to Laurent Blanc.
Conceição most recently managed AC Milan, where he spent just five months before he aaa sacked by the club at the end of the season. Despite the short spell, he led Milan to victory in the Italian Super Cup.
