Arsenal Cruise Past Brighton To Reach Carabao Cup Quarter-Finals

Arsenal defeated Brighton 2–0 to advance to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, with goals from Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka securing the victory. The result marks 12 wins in 14 matches across all competitions for Mikel Arteta’s side, with an impressive 11 clean sheets in that span.

Following the win, Arteta heaped praise on his team’s performance, saying:

“Incredible performance, a joy to watch from the start to the end, the way we did it against this very good team. Even at half time the scoreline didn’t reflect that. We fully deserved to win the game. We had 15 shots [in the first half], it was a lot. We had to keep going, we don’t have that accuracy in front of goal. You see it in every game. We had many situations to put the ball in the net and we didn’t, 1-0 isn’t enough. I think it was a phenomenal performance with a great feeling as well because of what happened last season, and the demands that Brighton put on you. The team was outstanding today from the start to the end, and thankfully we deserved to win the game, and we won it.”

Arsenal will now face Crystal Palace in the quarter-finals as they continue their push for silverware this season.
