Aston Villa has confirmed that defender Matty Cash has signed a new long-term contract with the club, extending his stay until June 2029, with an option for a further year.
Cash has been an important part of Unai Emery’s squad, making 38 appearances in all competitions last season. He has continued his consistent form this campaign, featuring in all 11 matches Aston Villa has played so far, including a strong performance in their recent Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.
The 26 year old joined Aston Villa in 2020 from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth £14 million. Since then, he has grown into a regular starter and a dependable presence in the squad.
While playing for Aston Villa, Cash received his first call up to the Poland national team in 2021. He has since become a key figure for both club and country.
