Fela Anikulapo-Kuti lived in this house from 1938 until 1958 before moving to the UK. The house is the ancestral home of the Ransome-Kuti family in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Fela and his siblings lived in the building, which is now known as the Ransome-Kuti Heritage Museum. It was built by Fela’s parents, Israel and Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.

The Ogun State government, in conjunction with the Federal Government of Nigeria, later converted the house, which had been abandoned, into the museum to preserve the family’s legacy. The museum serves as a repository for the history of the influential Ransome-Kuti family, which includes Fela, his brothers Olikoye and Beko, his elder sister , Dolupo and their mother Funmilayo.
