The governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde during his visit to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso to meet with health workers, in order to listen to their grievances, solve the problem of minimum wage of #18,800 being monthly payment to the security team.
An unidentified security staff who spoke on behalf of others pleaded with the governor to look into the cause of their poor salary.
The security wondered what their plight would be after retirement and nothing to fall back basically because they are not full staff of the teaching hospital, as they were outsourced from outsourcing firm.
The exchange between the security man and the governor had been in Yoruba language, with Makinde providing immediate solution to their plight by increasing the monthly subvention and provide funds to cover a monthly stipend of ₦80,000 for 65 non-staff security personnel working at the hospital while instructing that they should be integrated into the hospital’s system as ad hoc staff.
The governor also assured staff that some of the other issues raised will be addressed by the Governing Council
