Plateau State Reverend Dachomo Buries Over 15 Bodies, A Day After Warning Of Impending Doom And Security Operatives Withdrawal From The Christian Community

Armed Fulani militias attacked Christian villages in Nigeria’s Plateau State on October 14, killing over 13 people and displacing dozens in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

A day prior, Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo raised an alarm about planned Fulani attack on his community in Plateau State.

The assaults occurred shortly after the cleric warned of impending violence, a claim dismissed by the Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace as a false alarm.

The Reverend in a video subscribed that a group of Fulani terrorists were mobilizing through Nyerwai in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, alleging that security operatives had withdrawn from the area, leaving residents defenseless

However, The Nigerian Army through Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer of Operation Enduring Peace, said the cleric’s comments were reckless and intended to provoke unrest.

“The viral video by Rev Dachomo alleging mobilisation of Fulani terrorists through Nyerwai in Barkin Ladi LGA and accusing security agencies of collusion is a clear case of propaganda intended to inflame public sentiment and erode confidence in security agencies,” the Army stated.

Adding that: “The JTF Operation Enduring Peace condemns the misleading narratives and hereby warns the propagator to desist from causing panic and discord among the peace-loving people of the state or face the full wrath of the law.”

The spokesperson condemned a viral video released by Reverend Dachomo, accusing him of spreading false and inflammatory claims about an alleged planned Fulani terrorist attack in Plateau State

Local leaders reported prior threats to authorities that went unheeded, amid ongoing herder-farmer conflicts that have claimed over 7,000 Christian lives in 2025.
