U.S Hosts Milei At White House, Conditions $20 Billion Aid On Argentine Midterm Win

President Donald Trump met with Argentine President Javier Milei at the White House on October 14, 2025, amid Federal Government Shutdown, he praised Milei’s economic reforms and announced a $20 billion financial aid package.

“Great meeting today with Javier Milei! He is doing the right things for his Country. I hope the people of Argentina understand how good a job he is doing, and will support his work during the upcoming Midterms, so we can continue to help him achieve Argentina’s incredible potential.

“Javier Milei has my Complete and Total Endorsement — He will not let you down. MAKE ARGENTINA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump emphasized

Milei nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in an Israel-Hamas ceasefire that freed hostages, including Argentines.

Trump tied future U.S. support to Milei’s success in the October 26 midterm elections, prompting criticism from Democrats like Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren for favoring foreign aid over domestic priorities such as healthcare.
