Vincent Kompany has signed a new two year contract extension with Bayern Munich, the club announced today. The Belgian manager joined Bayern at the start of the 2024–2025 season and made an immediate impact, guiding the team to reclaim the Bundesliga title in his first year. In his second season, he has continued that strong form, winning eleven consecutive matches so far.
Kompany expressed his gratitude to the club in an official statement, thanking Bayern for their trust and support.
“I’m grateful, honoured and would like to thank FC Bayern for the trust and the working environment they’ve given me from day one. It feels like I’ve been here a lot longer and that I know the club well. It’s been a great experience so far. We’ve started on a wonderful journey. Let’s keep working hard and celebrate much more success.”
Board Member of Sport Max Eberl also praised Kompany’s influence since joining the club.
“I’m delighted about this extension. When we appointed Vinny, we had a clear vision of our shared path and he quickly proved that he would help FC Bayern move forward – both on and off the pitch. He’s a role model who unites players, fans and everyone at the club, and we want to build something long term with him.”
Kompany will now look to continue building on his early success and push Bayern to remain competitive in both domestic and European competitions, including the UEFA Champions League.
