A prank video had gone viral because the brain behind the content idea failed to read the room amid terrorism tension in the country.
The video captures the man in a blue robe and pink headscarf waving what looks like a gun on in an undisclosed street in Lagos.
Vendors and bystanders reacted quickly when the content creator waved the toy-like gun, with everyone heading for shelter, however, the moment he made them realized it’s a prank, those whom had gone for cover, came out of hiding and beat him but was saved by a woman who pleaded on his behalf.
The video generated condemnation amid Nigeria’s banditry and kidnapping fears, calling it reckless and urging limits on such stunts.
