Barcelona Held To Thrilling 3-3 Draw By Club Brugge In Champions League Clash

Barcelona were held to a dramatic 3-3 draw by Belgian side Club Brugge in their UEFA Champions League encounter.

Nicolo Tresoldi opened the scoring for the visitors in the 6th minute, but Ferran Torres quickly equalised just two minutes later. Manchester City academy graduate Carlos Forbs restored Brugge’s lead in the 17th minute, before Lamine Yamal levelled the score again in the 61st. Forbs struck once more two minutes later to complete his brace, only for an unfortunate own goal from Christos Tzolis in the 77th minute to hand Barcelona their third equaliser of the night.

Club Brugge thought they had sealed all three points in the 91st minute when Romeo Vermant found the net, but VAR intervened to rule out the goal after he was adjudged to have fouled Wojciech Szczęsny in the buildup.

The draw adds to Barcelona’s defensive woes  they have now conceded 20 goals in 15 official matches this season, marking their second worst defensive record in the 21st century.

Hansi Flick’s side have managed just two wins in four Champions League outings and currently sit 11th in the group standings.
