An American teenager Jesse Butler is facing almost 80 years behind bars after being convicted of raping two young girls, he broke down in tears during his arrest.
The 18-year-old avoided jail last month after attacking two 16-year-old girls in the city of Stillwater, Oklahoma, in early 2024.
In one instance, he left a victim unconscious and close to death after she was choked out and will be needing surgery on her neck, according to her doctor.
Despite the horrific details and conviction, Butler, who was facing nearly 80 years behind bars, avoided all jail time thanks to his “youthful offender” status.
The high-school baseballer – who was 17 at the time – was initially charged as an adult and slapped with 10 felony counts, including rape, attempted rape, sexual battery, and assault.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges but later struck a deal with the district attorney’s office to change his status from adult to youthful offender.
His father is a former football director at Oklahoma State University, according to Oklahoma Watch.
