The United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has threatened the department is preparing to wage war against Islamic terrorists in Nigeria.
“The killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria — and anywhere — must end immediately. The Department of War is preparing for action.
“Either the Nigerian Government protects Christians, or we will kill the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.” Hegseth threatened
This is coming after the president Trump aboard Air Force One on Sunday vowed to stop the mass killing of Christians in Nigeria, directing the Department of Defense to prepare for potential U.S. military intervention against Islamist militants like Boko Haram and Fulani groups, which killed over 5,000 Christians in the past year per Open Doors reports.
“They’re killing record numbers of Christians in Nigeria… We’re not going to allow that to happen.” Trump told reporters
With the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom designating the country a ‘Country of Particular Concern’ due to government inaction.
Trump directed the department of war to prepare for possible action against Nigeria terrorist if its government fails to do the needful.
