Former Chelsea Midfielder Oscar Stabilizes After Collapsing From Heart Issue During Pre-Season Exercise Section

Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Júnior, 34, collapsed and lost consciousness for two minutes during a pre-season exercise bike test at São Paulo FC’s training center in São Paulo on Tuesday.

He received immediate medical attention and was hospitalized at Albert Einstein Hospital, where he remains in stable condition in intensive care awaiting further cardiac tests this week.

Chelsea FC throws support for the Brazilian international in a statement on Wednesday: “The thoughts of everyone at Chelsea FC are with our former player Oscar and his family at this difficult time. 💙”

It is understood that he will retire from football and focus on recovery at 34

Oscar won two Premier League titles during his 2012-2017 stint at the club.
