The Diocese of Kaduna has confirmed the death of Anglican Priest Venerable Edwin Achi, from Ebenezer Anglican Church, Nigeria, who was kidnapped along his wife Sarah, and their daughter from their home in Nissi community on 28 October 2025.

The priest’s nephew named ‘Avril’ on X as well broke the sad news on the platform: “They killed him, they killed him 🥹💔

“These monsters k*lled him 🥹🥲” he stated in despair

While he further added that the terrorist had uploaded his picture on Facebook with his phone, while he urged president Tinubu to speed the release of the wife and daughter

In his words: “today, the kidnappers used his phone, took this picture and uploaded it on his Facebook page. Please you people should beg @officialABAT to call them, like he called them personally for the release of others. What kinda Godforsaken excuse of a country is this!!!” he cursed

The Diocese praised the deceased faithful ministry amid reports of ransom demands from ₦100 million to ₦600 million that the family could not pay.

The Dioceses in its statement said it will continue to pray for the release of priest’s wife and daughter
