Ademola Lookman delivered his finest performance of the season as Atalanta cruised past Eintracht Frankfurt with a commanding 3–0 victory in the UEFA Champions League.

The Nigerian forward broke the deadlock in the 60th minute, smashing home a precise cross from Charles De Ketelaere. Just two minutes later, Lookman was at the heart of the action again this time turning provider. He burst down the left flank and sent a dangerous ball into the box for Ederson, who calmly slotted past Michael Zetterer to double Atalanta’s lead.

De Ketelaere rounded off the scoring in the 65th minute, effectively sealing the win and capping a remarkable five minute blitz from the Bergamo side.

The performance was Lookman’s best this season , he had gone six straight matches for club and country without a goal contribution.

After the match, Atalanta head coach Raffaele Palladino refrained from singling out individual performances but praised the collective effort of his players, saying:

“It couldn’t have gone better, it was a magical night. I want to thank the club for having faith in me, my staff, but first and foremost the players, because this is the victory of a great group of lads who deserved this satisfaction. I saw the intensity with which they were working the last few days, and they provided me with an unforgettable night. We needed a spark to shake things up, above all mentally, and now it arrived. It’s important to remain humble and get focused on Sunday’s game, which is going to be crucial.”

The result means Atalanta now has three wins in five Champions League outings, lifting them to 10 points and 10th position in the standings.

The team now shifts focus to Serie A, where they face Fiorentina next. Palladino will undoubtedly hope Lookman can replicate his performance against Fiorentina.
