Miss Jamaica, Dr. Gabrielle Henry is recovering after suffering a major fall during the pageant.
Henry, fell from the stage on Wednesday during the Miss Universe preliminary evening gown round in Thailand.
The video of the event, which was broadcast live, has gone insanely viral across social media, showing Gabrielle Henry strolling across the stage in a long orange gown before falling off the stage.
Confirming the incident, the Miss Universe Organization in a statement on Wednesday disclosed that Henry is currently receiving treatment at Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Thailand.
Miss Universe President, Raúl Rocha Cantú, who visited the hospital, said “Henry sustained minor wounds. She is receiving treatment at a hospital in Bangkok, where she will remain under observation overnight.”
‘Medical professionals are attending to her care and have advised that she is not suffering from any life-threatening injuries; however, they continue to conduct tests to ensure her full recovery.”
“We kindly ask everyone to stay upbeat, lift her in prayer, and send positive thoughts as she receives the necessary medical care. We thank everyone for their outpouring of love, support and continued prayers,” they said in a statement.
There is no confirmation on whether she will take part in the finals or not.
