Roger Federer Set For Induction Into The International Tennis Hall Of Fame In 2026

Roger Federer will be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2026, an honour befitting one of the most celebrated athletes in the history of the sport. The Swiss icon spent 310 weeks as world number one in the PIF ATP Rankings, including an unprecedented 237 consecutive weeks, the longest streak in both ATP and WTA history.

His illustrious career saw him capture 20 Grand Slam titles and a total of 103 career trophies, while also winning 28 Masters 1000 titles, six ATP Finals, and achieving Olympic success with a gold medal in doubles in 2008 and a silver medal in singles in 2012.

Federer expressed deep gratitude after receiving the news of his induction. He said it is a tremendous honor to be included in the International Tennis Hall of Fame and to stand alongside so many of the game’s legendary champions. He added that throughout his career he always valued the history of tennis and admired the example set by those who came before him.

He shared that it was especially meaningful to receive the announcement at Swiss Tennis and to experience that moment with the next generation of players in the very place where his journey began.

Federer said that being recognized in this way by the sport and by his peers is deeply humbling, and he looks forward to visiting Newport next August to celebrate this milestone with the tennis community.

Also set for induction in 2026 is longtime sportscaster and journalist Mary Carillo, who enters under the Contributor Category. The official ceremony will take place in Newport, Rhode Island, from 27 to 29 August 2026.
