Tottenham Hotspur demolished FC København 4-0 in the UEFA Champions League, with Joao Palhinha, Wilson Odobert, Micky Van de Ven, and Brennan Johnson all finding the back of the net for Spurs.
After the match, head coach Thomas Frank praised his team’s performance and mentality.
“First and foremost, I think the response from the players to a bad performance was fantastic. In life and football, you get hits and setbacks, and it’s how you react to that. That bounce-back mentality from the players, I love that,” Frank said.
He added, “We controlled the game from minute one to the end, more or less. There was, of course, a little bit about the red card, but that shouldn’t be a problem. We secured a very good win in the Champions League. It’s never easy. I know Copenhagen hadn’t had a good start, but they are generally very difficult to play against. I’m pretty sure we’ll not see them lose 4-0 again in the Champions League.”
Reflecting on his team’s overall performance, Frank said, “I think it was a step forward in terms of how we want to play. Of course, there were assists and goals from some of the offensive players, and also good performances throughout. The structure was good today.”
Tottenham now turn their focus to domestic action, as they prepare to face Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday, 8th November.
