Trinidadian Rapper Nicki Minaj Preaches Compassion And Understanding After Nigerian Netizens Call Out Artists Over Their Silence In Ongoing Genocides

Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj in a post ask people to excuse Nigerian artists who have remain silence despite insecurity and ongoing genocides in the country.

She asked others to show them compassion stating that there are reasons not known to people for such action, admonishing netizens to understand their plight and not to judge them.

Minaj in her post on Friday morning wrote: “My darlings, let’s utilize wisdom & compassion as it relates to our Nigerian artists. There are very logical reasons for most things when we look not to judge, but to comprehend. That goes for every country & their artists. Let’s lift them up & continue to use wisdom.”

The Trinidadian rapper who has been consistent with and vocal against attack on Christians since 2015 while others remain mute, spoke at the UN on Tuesday, on behalf of the Trump administration on violence and genocide against Christians and has been consistent in using her platform of over 26 million followers on X to speak out her truth.

Part of her speech at the UN goes thus: “I want to make it very clear, this is not all about taking side, this is about standing up in the face of injustice.

“in Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes and killed. Churches have been burnt, families have been torn apart and entire communities live in fear constantly because of how they pray.” She stated.

However, her Nigerian fans are not willing to forgive their country artists especially in the wake of 25 school girls kidnapped by terrorist from Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Danko-Wasagu, on November 17 and the painful loss of Brigadier General Musa Uba and the brave soldiers who fell in Borno, not including attack in a kwara church on Sunday during service by terrorist group.

An influencer wrote under the activist comment: “Nah, Nigerian artistes are bunch of idiots, and cowards, especially the one that calls himself African giant. Thank you for using your platform to make a difference. I have always been a diehard fan of yours, and you made I, and many other fans of yours super proud yesterday.”

Yet from the comment section: “You schooled them and taught them that being brave to speak the truth is totally different from holding a microphone 🎤🎙️ and keep jumping like frog on a stage and making people happy for a moment and after the show, the fans goes back to mourning their loved ones here in Nigeria. You spoke like a concerned Nigeria. GOD BLESS YOU DAUGHTER OF ZION”

A fan disagreed with the rapper’s point of view, staunchly calling for accountability: “No, ma’am. This ‘wisdom and compassion’ line is exactly why bad behavior keeps getting swept under the carpet in this industry. Nigerian artists aren’t above criticism – they benefit from honest scrutiny just like everyone else. Understanding is good, but excusing everything in the name of ‘compassion’ is not it at all.”

An accusation against the artists over their silenced voices read: “majority of the artists and celebrities in Nigeria are on the government payroll.. They will never say anything..”

The rapper has been getting attacks from some corners as the major celebrity speaking on the Christian genocide while some had boldly call for her cancellation.
