Trump Defends H-1B Visas In Fox Interview, Faces Backlash

President Donald Trump defended the H-1B visa program during a Tuesday Fox News interview with Laura Ingraham, stating the U.S. lacks certain specialized talents needed for industries like battery manufacturing and missile production, citing examples such as a South Korean-funded plant in Georgia.

His remarks, which included rejecting the idea of ample domestic talent, prompted sharp criticism from MAGA supporters who accused him of undermining America First policies by favoring foreign workers over American training.

Ingraham had written: “I PRESSED President Trump on H-1B visas.

“If you want to RAISE WAGES for Americans, you can’t flood the country with THOUSANDS of foreign workers.”

@POTUS: “You have to bring in talent… You can’t take people off the unemployment line and say, ‘go make missiles.’”

Right-wing political commentator and podcast host, Matt Walsh disagreed with Trump in a post on Wednesday, arguing that: “Even if it were true that we don’t have enough talented people in this country, which it isn’t, that would be all the more reason to stop importing foreigners. We need to train up our own people. Give actual Americans a shot. America is for Americans.”
